Job Description:Engineering Specialist Job ID: 1434 Responsibilities: Description % Time: 70% Conduct component and system performance analysis for hypersonic air breathing and liquid rocket engines. Analyze engine test data and validate component and system models. Types of analyses required include high-speed reacting flow CFD, multi-phase fuel injection, high Mach number Inlet design and analysis, engine cycle performance, and engine performance test data reduction and correlation and operability analyses. Conceptualize and develop methods for flowpath design and performance prediction methodologies from first principles. 20% Support design and verification tests of propulsion systems and components. Develop test systems and strategies, specify instrumentation and analyze test results. Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, peer reviews and problem solving meetings. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS 10% Produce analysis reports and test reports, and present analysis results to both internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications/Comments: Qualifications: BS degree (MS or higher preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. Preferably has at least nine years directly applicable technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in team leadership, and analysis capability in CFD, compressible fluid dynamics and reacting flow. Must be able to obtain U.S. security clearance.
