Coordinates a float pool program along with the Practice Managers to determine that adequate coverage is maintained for the HCP Practices. Certified Coder with knowledge of CPT, ICD and HCPCS utilized in a multi-specialty office practices and associated surgeries required. BS degree in Business or Education preferred. Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows based electronic patient management system required. Additional training relative to Insurance, Management, Software and Hardware preferred. Requires 3 years experience in a multi-specialty practice as a Certified Coder utilizing a patient management system. Knowledge of medical coding to include CPT, ICD9 and HCPCS coding. Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices. Knowledge of governmental legal and regulatory provisions related to billing activities. Knowledge of payment and adjustment policies and procedures. Knowledge of third party reimbursement terminology, explanations and policies. Must possess strong interpersonal skill; must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers.
