JOB SUMMARY:
Operation of wastewater treatment equipment.
Routine wastewater treatment tests and recording of information.
Routine maintenance work.
Purpose/Objectives of Job Functions:
Safety, health and environmentally compliant. Efficient operation of wastewater treament system.
Equipment adjustments to maintain compliance and efficient system operation. Records for vendor and G&K staffs to analyze if necessary.
Key Working/Business Relationships:
Internally: Maintenance Staff, Production, Plant and General Managers, Production Workers, Regional Engineer, Regional Director of Operations, Corporate Engineering and other Maintenance Staffs.
Externally: Chemical Suppliers, Local Utility and Vendor Representatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Administrative Work
What – Participates in meetings. Communications with suppliers and G&K staff.
Why - To ensure a proper level of communication.
When - As necessary.
Guidelines/Assistance – Vendor representatives and G&K staff.
End Results – Good communication, accurately maintained records and files, wastewater compliance.
- Wastewater System Operation (% of work varies on equipment and local compliance reqs.)
What – Operation of wastewater treatment equipment. Performance of internal wastewater tests. Logging of data.
Why – To maintain compliance with local water treatment requirements.
When – As necessary.
Guidelines/Assistance – Maintenance Staff, Regional & Corporate Engineering, Vendor Technical Assistance, local wastewater limits.
End Results – Consistent compliance and cost effective operation.
- Routine Maintenance Work
What – Wastewater preventive maintenance work. With supervision, general plant preventive maintenance work.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School education, GED or equivalent reading, recordkeeping and communication skills
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous maintenance experience and related recordkeeping a plus. Entry level position
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Proven basic mechanical aptitude for and interest in routine maintenance work
Demonstrated ability to operate motorized heavy equipment in a safe manner.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES etc.:
- Knowledge of wastewater regulations a plus
