JOB SUMMARY:
Deliver G&K products and services and provide seamless and superior customer service for Route Sales
Representatives during periods of time away from work. Measure and install major/national accounts so
that routes are accurately established. Audit routes and observe the work of Route Sales Reps in order
to assess training needs. Maintain sales objectives on all routes driven.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Confirm customer loads are correct before leaving the warehouse, deliver products to customers according to specifications, and collect/sort and return used products to the warehouse
- Develop holiday route schedules to ensure seamless customer service is provided on all routes on applicable holidays
- Resolve customer issues within established guidelines and partner with customers in identifying satisfactory solutions
- Identify potential growth opportunities and communicate suggestions/ideas according to established guidelines and practices
- Understand the dynamics of each route to ensure customer needs and G&K customer service standards are met
- Accurately complete all records and required work on a daily basis
- Coordinate and handle measuring and installations of all major/national accounts
- Perform route audits during service runs and training and observation rides; evaluate performance and assess training needs
- Assist Route Manager with new employee orientation and other tasks as required
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- HS diploma/GED or equivalent reading, verbal and written communication, and basic math skills
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-4 years experience running regular/super routes
- Demonstrated success in: resolving customer problems and retaining customers
- Increasing sales and training new Route Sales Reps
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong customer service, sales, communication and training skills
- Demonstrated ability to: develop effective working relationships with plant, service and office personnel
- Understand and follow oral and written policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely records; establish efficient schedules
- Must be able to safely and legally operate a G&K vehicle
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES etc.:
- Valid commercial driving license, applicable federal and state DOT certification
